Breaking Down A Conversation About Tiger Woods (In a forum)

Hello all! This is a little bit of a forum I was in and the conversation surrounding the Tiger Woods news! I replied to multiple post on the subject with this one post so sorry if it sounds like it's all over the place but I was replying to many post at once! Just my opinions on some of the subject!!!

Im watching the media frenzy about Tiger Woods and wondering a couple of things 1. Why did he marry the help? 2. When is the black side going to take over and put this situation to rest? I can't amagine many real black men handling this situation in this manor. 3. Out of all the mistresses there could not have been one that was black or asian?

I think Y'all are missing some key issues here!

1. Tiger was a freak before he met ole girl and he was just looking to have the ultimate catch! Fellas know that if you’re going after the white girls by world standards it's the Nordic chicks and not white chicks from say like UK! Nordics are thicker because it's colder where they come from, they are all about the freak card and they do have some pretty women for the most part, they are tech savvy considering Denmark has the highest number of cell phones and computers per person per capita in the world. So odds are in his favor that she is not going to be stupid!

2. Freak Card! When Elin realized he was more than a vanilla lover she "CHOSE" to stick around because after all he is Tiger Woods! So don't feel sorry for her in this situation because she chose to be there and if his freakish ways were not her cup of tea then she should have left while she had a chance but NOOO!!! She saw his bank account and his commercials every Saturday and Sundays on TV and she weighed her pros and cons and chose his money, fame and status with his access to Net Jets and flying where he wants when he wants! Give me a break, she didn't listen to all the other women on the planet speak when they say the familiar phrase "WHAT YOU WON'T DO FOR YOUR MAN, ANOTHER WOMAN WILL!!!" Sista's will co-sign that fact 24/7/365!!!

3. The type of women he chose makes perfect sense in a weird sort of way! Ladies how many times have you heard of or experienced being cheated on and the girl the guy cheated with was with was not as attractive and you wondered why! I hear women saying why Tiger didn't choose Beyonce' or Brandi...well one reason is he already had a dime piece! Black or white is irrelevant the fact is she is very attractive, nice figure and she already had her own money! So what did he want??? It's simple and just that, he wanted the simple or average everyday woman. His wife doesn't stroke his ego and money, fame and status is not enough and she didn't provide it! Average woman will be in awe about who she is with regardless of the later tales that may surface! She will do "WHATEVER" Tiger is wanting so that they can be with him! Freaky and doing what he wants to receive the small gifts of appreciation...who says women are not prostitutes! They all have a price!!!

He has never had the normal dating life and he wants to date the average chick because he already has the ultimate looking wife! Ladies you can hate on her if you want but you don't make her kind of money as a model or doing appearances by looking like a scrub from the US regardless of your race!!!

"Show me a man with a beautiful woman, perfect figure and makes her own money and I'll show you a man who can't stand her ass!!!" Ladies this refers to what I said about the less than attractive woman be you out! She doesn't have to be fine she has to do the do! Tiger could give a damn about what these women look like within' reason of course but I bet he can tell you what they all can do and how well they do it and he doesn't get that at home!!! That's what he is looking for!!!

We as average folk can't understand what is going on other than what the news tells us! Our mindset is different when it comes to playing at that level and most women will put up with alot when that kind of money is involved! Ask Kobe's wife, Michael Jordan or Shaq and see who left the limelight and the lifestyle? Elin is trying to save face at this point and she took the richest athlete in the world for $100 million or so and that makes her the true "Queen Mack!" She new what she was doing and it was a calculated risk and she gambled and took it!

So before you run off at the mouth blasting Tiger about what he has done or not, look and see if you have the same addiction or competitive drives and desires you will forego all else to feed that beast!!! Family is family but desires are deeper than that especially when it sexual in nature! Tiger will recover with or without Elin but I bet you once she is out of his hair he can do as he wishes and he has had the best looking woman and all it got him was headaches and heartaches!!! Sometimes being pretty on the outside doesn't make you so pretty on the inside!

I guess there is something to the old saying "Men get yourself an ugly woman because she will be the most loyal freak on the planet and will love you how you like forever!" A pretty woman is there to break your heart and drive you crazy!!!

A pretty face on the outside with a bangin' body is great but what’s on the inside get's you past day 2!!!

Citygirl , This is true but don't make it sound like Tiger isn't black because regardless of the semantics it's not what he says it's how he appears to everyone! First glance "HE'S A BLACK MAN!!!" Most everyday men deal with this all the time but the difference is it's not played out on ESPN all day! So of course they wouldn't handle it the same way! You can't!!!

Black folk need to get off the issue of Tiger being black or not!!! Most of you were not supporting Tiger when he was winning and going to the golf courses when he plays, buying up his gear so don't trip when he does something that all of a sudden makes "Black People Look Bad!!!"

Black folk weren't trippin when Russell Simmons and his wife Kimora split up but the ladies all own Baby Phat gear or wear Kimora's perfumes and stuff and the fellas are walking around in Sean John even though Diddy is not portraying what everyone thinks how a good black man with wealth would act but ya'll are supporting him left and right!

This just goes to show you that money or not most people can relate to a point about someone else's situation and we all need to remember that we need to be careful what we ask for because we just might get it and that may be more than we need or can handle!!!

Details of Elin Woods' Newly Rewritten Prenup Emerge

Elin and Tiger Woods had a prenuptial agreement, as expected. The couple is undergoing marital counseling, as you'd also expect. And now The Daily Beast is reporting that Elin Woods is renegotiating that prenup to get an immediate $5 million payout from her husband and as much as $55 million more to stay with him for two more years.

The initial prenup was worth $20 million after 10 years of marriage. However, the Chicago Sun-Times' Bill Zwecker has reported that Elin Woods will receive an immediate payment "into an account she alone controls," and that the 10-year timeframe -- which began when they married in 2004 -- has been shortened and the value increased "substantially."

The Daily Beast quotes "a lawyer familiar with the couple's negotiations" in reporting that the term of the prenup has been shortened to seven years, and that a series of staggered payments could increase the total value to $75 million.
But apparently there's also a behavioral component to all this: Elin Woods must "be a dutiful wife in showing up with him at social events and in public as if they were still the perfect couple, and sign a nondisclosure form that will prevent her from ever telling her story."

It's important to note that to date, there's no concrete evidence that Elin Woods has ever been anything but the perfectly dutiful golf wife. I'm sure the Woodses would like nothing more than to portray domestic calm to the world, and Elin Woods now apparently has several million more reasons to do just that.

Tiger Woods Potential Harem! What Does Tiger Really Like And Want?

What's up good people! I put my comments in "Italics" so you understand where I'm coming from on this one!

So Tiger has been working hard in creating his own harem but some of his choices leave me wondering what he was going for! Some of these ladies are attractive to most guys and then others obviously had other attributes that outweighed the physical qualities!

His wife Elin, an accomplished model is nothing bad to look at and rumors have it that her figure bounced back after two kids! So what was Tiger looking for to kill his appetite for the ladies? Was it his never being satisfied with a gorgeous woman or is there an underlying factor or desire?

Tiger in my opinion is a freak at the highest level and his super model wife is a "vanilla sex" chick and Tiger needs his freak button pushed and wifey wasn't doing it! Ever hear the phrase "if your woman won't do it, there is a woman that will?" Well looks like the wife is just good looks and an arm trophy!

It's obvious that some of these ladies are pretty but freak status and willing to do whatever Tiger wants is what got them involved with Tiger! Women always say they would do anything to hook up with a guy with money, status and or power! Well these women definitely put out the freak card enough to tempt Tiger's lustful palette for a sexual freak!

They know he was married and to whom so they new they were the mistress and a long-term relationship was not on the table so if a sexual encounter is what he is after these ladies new they had to be open to pretty much anything in order to get a repeat performance and any perks they may come along with!

3 of the ladies are blond and the rest all were dark haired and the redhead Mindy Lawton is strictly a freak! She is plain jane and she must do some stuff because the competition seems to be tough! Who knows but Mindy, Jaimee and Rachel seem to be more of the freaks what he likes that don't look like his wife!

We shall see what will come of all this! I know one thing! Tiger if your going to use your playa card you need to do things a little cleaner because it's not like your an unknown person anywhere in the world! Pick your playthings and keep them to yourself and quit thinking your the ultimate baller! Plus if your going to cheat get with someone that is equal to or better looking than your wife! (I know hard to pull off) If it's all about your "freakdom" then use your money and connections to give you the privacy to get your freak on!

All in all you made a big mistake by playing this game and you messed up big and now your human like the rest of us! You got married and if you knew Elin was not as freaky as you like then you needed to keep her on the side and not get married! Some women only play the freak card until you marry them and then they shut down! You married her and this is what you get so straighten up and fly right!

Katt Williams Out On Bond, Says Incident Was ”Misunderstanding”

Comedian Katt Williams kept it light at his bond hearing Monday, telling the judge he could have his $200,000 Bentley if it would get him out of jail quicker.

Coweta County Magistrate Judge Joseph Wyatt settled for a $41,150 bail for the actor and TV personality, charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespassing.

Williams was arrested Sunday night after the an employee at the Coweta estate where the comedian is staying called 911 to report a break-in at a guesthouse located on the property. The caller said the 36-year-old part-time Atlantan stole jewelery and other personal items, though Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager said authorities have not located the missing merchandise.

“This was a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives,” said Williams as he emerged from the Coweta jail Monday night. He was mobbed by about 50 excited fans before departing in a van filled with friends and associates.

In court Judge Wyatt agreed this was no “typical” burglary. Williams said he was staying at producer Barry Hankerson’s Coweta estate, located in the 3400 block of Smokey Road, while in town filming a movie about President Barack Obama.

“I was in the middle of a birthday party” when arrested, Williams told the judge. “I’m one of the most honorable people in my profession,” said the father of eight children, seven of whom were adopted.

This wouldn't be the first time police were dispatched to the Coweta estate. An unidentified 17-year-old called 911 on Nov. 3, claiming Williams was holding him against his will.

"He threatened to beat me up," said the caller, who told a sheriff's deputy he was trying to catch a plane to New York City. No charges were filed but the incident remains under investigation.
It's been a turbulent year for the comedian, whose birth name is Micah Williams. He was arrested almost a year ago to the day in New York City for gun possession, though charges were eventually dropped.

He was also reportedly admitted to a South Carolina psychiatric ward last November. His publicist at the time blamed his erratic behavior on exhaustion. Williams' credits include the comedy "First Sunday" and the Eddie Murphy film, "Norbit." He also headlined an HBO special, "Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1," shot in Atlanta.

Man carries assault rifle to Obama protest -- and it's legal

PHOENIX, Arizona (CNN) -- A man toting an assault rifle was among a dozen protesters carrying weapons while demonstrating outside President Obama's speech to veterans on Monday, but no laws were broken. It was the second instance in recent days in which weapons have been seen near presidential events.

Video from the protest in Phoenix, Arizona, shows the man standing with other protesters, with the rifle slung over his right shoulder.

Phoenix police said authorities monitored about a dozen people carrying weapons while peacefully demonstrating.
"It was a group interested in exercising the right to bear arms," police spokesman Sgt. Andy Hill said.

Arizona law has nothing in the books regulating assault rifles, and only requires permits for carrying concealed weapons. So despite the man's proximity to the president, there were no charges or arrests to be made. Hill said officers explained the law to some people who were upset about the presence of weapons at the protest.

"I come from another state where 'open carry' is legal, but no one does it, so the police don't really know about it and they harass people, arrest people falsely," the man, who wasn't identified, said in an interview aired by CNN affiliate KNVX. "I think that people need to get out and do it more so that they get kind of conditioned to it."

Gun-toting protesters have demonstrated around the president before. Last week, a man protesting outside Obama's town hall meeting in New Hampshire had a gun strapped to his thigh. That state also doesn't require a license for open carry.

U.S. Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan acknowledged the incidents in New Hampshire and Arizona, but said he was not aware of any other recent events where protesters attended with open weapons. He said there was no indication that anyone had organized the incidents.
Asked whether the individuals carrying weapons jeopardized the safety of the president, Donovan said, "Of course not."

The individuals would never have gotten in close proximity to the president, regardless of any state laws on openly carrying weapons, he said. A venue is considered a federal site when the Secret Service is protecting the president and weapons are not allowed on a federal site, he added.

In both instances, the men carrying weapons were outside the venues where Obama was speaking.

"We pay attention to this obviously ... to someone with a firearm when they open carry even when they are within state law," Donovan said. "We work with our law enforcement counterparts to make sure laws and regulations in their states are enforced."

This came from a brotha's blog and it was a non-scientific survey of brotha's that all are educated and are employed or business owners. Some are married and have or are currently dating black women. 5. Black women expect too much. They are gold diggers who will not look twice at a blue collar black man.
6. Black women are hot headed and have bad attitudes.
7. Black women stop caring about their appearance after a certain age.
8. Black women are not as sexually open as other races, especially in regards to oral sex.
9. Black women's tolerance is far too low; they are no longer empathetic to the black man's struggle in white America.
10. Black women do not cater to their men.

MTA Operator Let Kid Drive Train, Rider Claims

Driving a subway is so easy an 8-year-old could do it – and one straphanger claims that's who he saw behind the controls of his train.

Jules Cattie, a 41-year-old lawyer who lives on the East Side, was shocked when he saw a young child at the helm, next to the driver, of his Lexington Avenue express train Sunday, according to the Daily News. And the MTA has suspended a subway operator and conductor without pay while they investigate the charges.

"I saw him driving. He couldn't have been more than 8 or 9," Cattie told the News about the kid. " I thought, 'This is really dangerous.' That has to be the craziest thing I've ever seen."
Kids obviously aren't allowed to drive trains; no one's even allowed to be in the cab with the train operator, according to MTA rules. So if what Cattie says he saw wasn't just a figment of his imagination, someone's going to be in trouble.

At first, Cattie just thought the train operator was teaching a newbie how to drive a subway because he heard her giving instructions.
"It's green, speed up," and "Yellow, slow down," he recalled the operator saying.

But when the train stopped at 14th Street and a boy came out of the driver's cab to tell riders they were being held up because of traffic, Cattie was stupefied. He pressed his face up against the glass of the cab to get a better look, and saw what he thought was an MTA operator letting her son have a go at the controls, reports the News.

"The kid was standing there with a female conductor behind him. A little, little kid standing there," Cattie, who took a picture of the two with his cell phone, said.
Given recent news about devastating train accidents in Washington and California, the lawyer found the sight particularly disturbing.

Investigators confirmed on Tuesday that an unauthorized person was in the operator's cab as the subway traveled through Manhattan on Sunday. They are still investigating whether the person was allowed to operate the train. NYC Transit said the unidentified train operator had 16 years of experience and the conductor was a 10-year veteran.

This wouldn't be the first time a transit employee was disciplined for giving someone else a turn behind the controls. Ten days ago, a Long Island Rail Road engineer was suspended without pay for allowing a passenger to drive the train.

Now I'm not sayin' the president is sagging or anything because he is not but as a black man I can speak for a quite few of them and from experience and a black man will get his pimp, playa or brah man card suspended if he gets caught pulling a stunt like that in public! The President pants are comfortable and appropriate (he is at a baseball game) and DAMN IT, he is the President of the United States and he can wear whatever makes him feel good! If the fashionista's don't like it, well that's too damn bad!

As if the media doesn't have enough to report on President Obama already, his attire to a baseball game is top news? This is a sad state of journalism!!!

"I'm a little frumpy," he said on NBC's Today programme, after presenter Meredith Vieira ribbed him about his baseball attire. "I hate to shop, those jeans are comfortable. For those of you who want your president to look great in his tight jeans I'm sorry, I'm not the guy."

The last comment may have been a slag on former president George Bush, whose Texas cowboy look provoked swoons from some voters during his 2000 run for the White House.
Obama's shyness about his physique even applies on the basketball court: He eschews the shorts typical to the game in favour of long dark workout pants and a tucked-in T-shirt.

On the rare occasions he allows himself to be photographed in short pants – or shirtless – the president has shown he has little to hide under clothing more suited to one's grandparents. He exercises regularly, even ordering aides to schedule daily workout sessions during the marathon presidential campaign, and watches his weight. Obama told the Today show that during his tenure as a state senator in Springfield, Illinois he owned only four suits, and that his glamourous wife would tease him when they would wear to a patina.

According to German fashion writer Bernhard Roetzel, author of Gentleman: A Timeless Guide to Fashion, even now Obama's attire could use a bit of freshening up.
"I find his suit trousers sometimes a bit too long," he told the New York Times fashion blog. "The president should also choose shirts, suits and ties with less contrasting colours in order to make his face look fresher - dark blue or black suits and white shirts are too harsh. Dark grays for the suit and light blue for the shirt would look better, in my opinion. And I never understood why the man with the biggest intelligence agency behind him didn't know that a white tie is not worn with a dinner suit."

Youngest African American Female To Have Completed Flight Across Country

Kimberly Anyadike

15-year-old Kimberly Anyadike became the youngest African-American female pilot to ever fly across the United States, finishing a 13 day flight and 23 cities with the help of her safety pilot, 87 year old Tuskegee Airman, Levi Thornhill.

Anyadike, who met over 50 Tuskegee Airmen during her trip, says she "wanted to inspire other kids to really believe in themselves," and that she wanted to pay tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen along the way, as "They left such a great legacy. I had big shoes to fill.

All they wanted to do was to be patriots for this country. They were told no, that they were stupid, that they didn't have cognitive development to fly planes. They didn't listen. They just did what they wanted to do." A clip of the pilot, below:

Anyadike is believed to be the youngest African American female to have completed the journey, and among the youngest people in the nation (regardless of race or gender) to have done so.

She left from Compton at the end of last month on a small red-tailed Cessna. The tail of the plane was painted red in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen who she hoped to honor:

Anyadike’s co-pilot was also a Tuskegee Airman and during the 13 day trip, she stopped in 4 different states along the eastbound leg of the trip to meet surviving members of the all African-American Air Force unit. 50 Airman signed her small plane in thanks. Many were glad to see the legacy of African American pilots continuing into the next generation.

TAM is also a shining examples of black people doing for themselves. Founder, Jamaican-American, Robin Petgrave started the program to inspire youth and get them off the streets and away from exploitation. It is currently supported by the Association of Black Pilots and the Tuskegee Airman Chapter in LA, as well as the KIPP school (open to all inner city youth seeking college prep education). And TAM is part of a larger community effort to help inspire kids from Compton that many locals have spoken out in praise of and helped support through time, effort, media, and funds.

In a world where we are still willing to kick children out of a pool for being the wrong “complexion” or to disparage the intelligence of young girls while encouraging them to see their power in flesh and product, Anyadike offers a critical alternative of hardwork, knowing one’s history, and daring to dream. The collective effort of women and men from Congress to Compton ensured that the youngest black female pilot just made a safe and historic flight around our nation. Her skills and accomplishment will no doubt inspire other young girls and nationally disparaged youth; they certainly inspired me.

Anyadike also understands the importance of continuing the legacy, stating her other main reason for taking the flight amidst discouragement from others was:

Given that the first all African-American female crew (pilot, co-pilot, and flight attendants) flew only a year ago, Anyadike’s significance to women’s aviation cannot be underestimated. Not only does her flight represent an important shift away from a largely male, or male only, tradition in aviation (black or white) but was also part of the efforts of several strong women to keep the program where she learned to fly alive.

Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum, designed to inspire at-risk and low income youth to not only learn to fly but also to take hold of their dreams, was largely supported by female Congressmen. Senator Diane Finestein and Congresswoman Richardson have been key advocates for the program and were also on hand to meet Anyadike when she reached the East Coast. Congresswomen Juanita Millender-McDonald and Figueroa have been important local advocates for the program, taking their accomplishments to the hill.

Congresswoman Millender-McDonal also helped spearhead efforts to get the program re-funded under the Bush administration; those effots were stopped by then-Pres Bush, citing Katrina rebuilding as his reason, tho many believe it was part of a longstanding tradition of Republicans to refuse to fund targeted programs regardless of how beneficial they may be. While Bush failed to see the significance of the program, the male pilots behind the program were much clearer on its goals and were just as keen as the women involved to ensure female representation and gender equity in the program.

So, nearly a week after an optical illusion turned into a silly faux controversy, the media is still prattling on and on about Barack Obama supposedly ogling the booty of a 16 year old Brazilian girl. All I see is a black man helping a beautiful brown skinned sister down some stairs, but that's just me.

(They are in Brazil...WTH would you expect with the way woman look down there...That's a black mans dream, to chill in Rio and enjoy all the eye candy that practically grows on trees!!!

Clearly Obama didn't oggle the young girl's butt. I have no idea why this is still being discussed. Perhaps the stupidest criticism I've heard is that if George W. Bush had done this, it'd be all over the news. Uhhh, really. Did folks somehow forget this?

It's neat how the media picks up this and runs with it because of the character of President Obama but when George does it, everyone buries it and never speaks of it. Oh well, I guess even the highest man in office can still be human and have haters all over the place!

60 Black Kids Kicked Out Of Philly Pool Because They Might Change The "Complexion Of The Pool"

The Michael Smerconish Program interviewed an eyewitness named "Jan," who is a member of The Valley Swim Club. Jan says the children from The Creative Steps Day Camp were very well-behaved, and the camp supervisors were highly attentive. This puts a dent in the argument that, perhaps, the children were behaving in an overly rowdy fashion, which is why they were ejected.



NBC reports that more than 60 African-American campers from Northeast Philadelphia were turned away from a private swim club because -- according to John Duesler, President of The Valley Swim Club -- "there was concern that a lot of kids would change the complexion ... and the atmosphere of the club."

It may surprise some Americans to learn that not only do certain private clubs still refuse to admit African-Americans, women, and gay people, but that this kind of enrollment discrimination is considered perfectly legal.

While the total number of private clubs is unknown, there are around at least 4,000 private golf clubs, according to Golf Digest. Of course, since these clubs are private, their exact enrollment standards aren't part of the public record, so there is no way to know for sure if they discriminate against ethnic minorities, women, or homosexuals. Furthermore, even if they do adopt official "white males only" policies, these practices are considered "legal" in some jurisdictions, though many clubs have been sued for discrimination.

Because of the shroud of secrecy surrounding enrollment at private clubs, these discriminatory practices usually only come to light when the media catches a prominent politician on the fairway. Katon Dawson, South Carolina GOP chairman and former candidate for the RNC chair, was forced to resign from the Forest Lake Club after members made public the fact that the club has a whites-only restriction and no black members. Then there was Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), who hosted a golf fundraiser at a whites-only club back in 2000 along with then-lawmakers Bob Ney and Tom DeLay.

Back in 1992, Bill Clinton was accused of attending an all-white private golf club, though Mark Grobmeyer, the Little Rock lawyer who played at the club with Clinton, denied there was a "no blacks" policy. Why were there no black players then? Mr. Grobmeyer replied, "None have applied."

President Kennedy was once challenged by future Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg, over his membership at the Links Country Club because the club excluded Jews from membership. President Kennedy reportedly chuckled and replied, "Hell, Arthur, they don't even allow Catholics."

This recent case of discrimination at the Philadelphia club is merely a continuation of discriminatory admission standards. Such official bans on non-Anglo Saxon men may seem superfluous considering outrageous membership fees are usually enough deterrence to keep non-white people off the golf courses and out of the pools, but when The Creative Steps Day Camp managed to pay the $1900 for their young campers to enter The Valley Swim Club, the staff resorted to drastic measures.

"When the minority children got in the pool all of the Caucasian children immediately exited the pool," Horace Gibson, parent of a day camp child, wrote in an email. "The pool attendants came and told the black children that they did not allow minorities in the club and needed the children to leave immediately."

Remarks like that make it difficult to remember that it's 2009. According to attorney Benjamin Leedy, another shameful episode occurred a little over a decade ago when Hall Thompson, founder of the all-white Shoal Creek club in Birmingham, AL (site of the 1990 PGA Championship,) declared that his club would not be pressured into accepting African-American members. "This is our home, and we pick and choose who we want," he said.

Leedy cites another recent example in 2003 at the Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters, where Martha Burke, head of the National Council of Women's Organizations, demanded that the club allow women to become members. Hootie Johnson chairman of Augusta National, responded "There may well come a day when women will be invited to join our membership, but that timetable will be ours and not at the point of a bayonet."

In 2001, Birgit Koebke and Kendall French, a lesbian couple registered as domestic partners under the California Domestic Partner Rights and Responsibilities Act of 2003, sued Bernardo Heights Country Club alleging that the club discriminated against them on the basis of sexual orientation. The club's membership privileges were only available to members' spouses and children, but not to members' domestic partners. In 2005, the California Supreme Court concluded "that since, under California law, registered domestic partners have rights equivalent to legal spouses, the question of whether the club's practice of granting playing privileges to members' spouses but not to members' registered domestic partners constituted unlawful discrimination under California's anti-discrimination law must be left to a jury decide."

This most recent case of discrimination in Philadelphia is particularly sinister because it involves banishing children. "I heard this lady, she was like, 'Uh, what are all these black kids doing here?' She's like, 'I'm scared they might do something to my child,'" said camper Dymire Baylor.
What a terrible lesson to teach two children -- one white and one black. The white child learns to fear those who are different from them.

The black child learns there is something "wrong" and "dirty" about their very existence. Hopefully, another more enlightened swim club will welcome the campers from The Creative Steps Day Camp, who are now looking for a place to keep cool during the summer.

Infomercial Celebrity Billy Mays Dies After Flight

Television infomercial celebrity Billy Mays died in his sleep less than a day after he was involved in a landing incident where he was struck in the head by one or more falling objects. US Airways Flight 1241, a 737-400, departed from Philadelphia, PA just after noon on June 27, 2009 on a nonstop flight to Tampa, FL. The aircraft experienced a hard landing, which ruptured the two nose wheel tires. The aircraft remained on the runway and the 138 passengers and five crew members, none of whom at the time appeared to be seriously injured, were taken to the terminal. Billy Mays was interviewed by a reporter from WTVT television in Tampa shortly after the incident and stated that he had been hit on the head by something falling from the ceiling.Billy Mays had returned to Tampa on Saturday in order to undergo hip surgery the following Monday. According to his family, he had no other significant medical conditions at the time of his death. Tampa police reported that Mays wasn't feeling well the evening of the landing incident, and he went to bed at about 10 pm. He was found dead by his wife at about 7:45 the following morning.

So far, a direct connection between the head strike on Billy Mays during the hard landing and his subsequent death has been neither ruled in or ruled out by local authorities. Although Mays reported that he was struck in the head, neither he or the Tampa police could confirm that he was struck by luggage. Local authorities will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, and the results may be available before the end of June. If the authorities determine that Mays's death was not connected to the landing incident, then the incident will be considered minor and would likely not end up in the online incident and accident databases of the FAA or NTSB. If the death is determined to be associated with the hard landing, then this would be considered a fatal accident by the NTSB, but would not likely result in a major investigation.

The most recent significant safety event for US Airways was the ditching of an A320 in the Hudson River last January. The last fatal crash for US Airways involved a regional aircraft in Charlotte, NC in January 2003. That crash killed both pilots and all 19 passengers. The most recent fatal event involving a 737-400 was a Garuda Indonesia Airways crash in 2007.

Dangers from falling luggage have long been recognized by the airline industry. In 1998, the Flight Safety Foundation published the results of a study that estimated that worldwide, there were about 10,000 injuries every year involving falling baggage. The same study looked at 397 cases at a major US airline where a person was struck by falling luggage, and 30 percent of those strikes resulted in bruises or lacerations. Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Vernard Adams stated that preliminary results from the autopsy of Billy Mays indicates that he had hypertensive heart disease. He also said that Mays was taking the prescription painkillers Tramadol and hydrocodone for hip pain, and that pill counts indicate that Mays had been taking the correct amount of the drugs. Initial tests showed no evidence of head trauma. Hillsborough County includes the city of Tampa.

Here he goes again doing something that other Presidents may not have done and it makes him look very good in the world of PR and it made a little girl have a new person to idolize! President Obama lands and then quickly left the airport in limo for his town hall meeting at Southwest High School in Green Bay.


The president gets a 4th grader out of class with a note and I don't think anyone at her school is going to question the validity especially since it was on TV around the world and all the major news agencies are talking about it! This is where President Obama will be very successful in the eyes of the public. He does things impromptu, out of the blue and because he feels like it! My kind of President and if he keeps this up he will at least appear as he is trying to do for the people!!! That is a start compared to the last administration!

President Obama, do what you do and don't listen to the media, the people like this side of you and God forbid anyone actually like the President!!!

Some of the people who saw President Barack Obama at a town hall meeting in Green Bay had a long day, hitting the road by 6 or 7 o'clock in the morning, to be ready and waiting for him at noon. But many say it was worth it.
John Corpus was the second person to ask President Obama a question and he got more than just an answer. Corpus explained to the president he was there with his 10-year-old daughter Kennedy, who was missing school.

The president offered to write a note excusing Kennedy from class.
While he answered her father's question about health care, he gave Kennedy a note, excusing her absence from her last day of fourth grade at Aldo Leopold Community School in Green Bay.
"It says 'To Kennedy's teacher: Please excuse Kennedy's absence. She's with me. Barack Obama,' " said Kennedy.

Kennedy and her dad both thought the president was kidding when he asked to write a note, but now she has a priceless souvenir.
"Really cool, awesome. It's like the best thing ever," said Kennedy.

The president also recognized another youngster during his speech. He waved at two-year-old Grant Perry, and said Grant was waving at him.
"I thought it was very cool, but a little embarrassing because he was making some noise," said Grant's mother, Jessica Perry. "It's hard to keep a two year old quiet."
But not everyone with a ticket got in.

"I am actually really bummed," said Roni Santiago. "I was super excited because I found out last night, even though I applied for them on Tuesday, I think. I was really super excited to go and then it was really disappointing when I got to the corner."
Santiago had a ticket and said it was easier for her to walk to the event rather than take a shuttle bus But she says about an hour and half before the event she couldn't get close to the school.
But those who did get in were glad to see Obama, even if they didn't get a special note or greeting from him.

"It was amazing," said Jane Rufe of Appleton. "The president did a wonderful job of talking to us about health care and his vision and it was a wonderful event."
Kennedy Corpus, who got a note from the president says she will give her teacher a copy of the note. She plans to frame the original with her ticket.

So is this what we have come to??? The funny thing is no one is talking about the trust funds for the kids college money he stashed or the money he gave to charity before he bought that chain. The only thing you are going to hear about is that chain. What about the millions he put away for each child and baby mothers? He made sure he took care of his responsibilities before all the wasteful spending.

Trust funds for the kids and college money, that sounds great!!! Since he has so many kids and "baby mommas" did he move them all out of their respective neighborhoods and into homes he bought so they all saw another side to living a better life so that they will have a better education before college??? Nope! They're probably all still living in the same houses in Tallahassee with moms and grand moms and aunties!!! Now they are probably doing better in the eyes of their neighbors but are the kids doing any better?

He sounds like he did try to do the right thing in one area but he is not trail blazing in others...is it not popular? You know how black folk do!!! It doesn't do any good if you have a lot of money and you live in surroundings that make trying to get the basics almost impossible.

Alysa Stanton: First Black Female Rabbi

CINCINNATI — Alysa Stanton began quenching her spiritual thirst early, discovering Judaism after a search that began at age 9 and worried her mother only when a man called the house one night asking for her youngest child.
Turns out he was a priest Stanton had contacted to ask questions about Catholicism, part of a road that took her through charismatic Christian and Eastern faiths and finally to a position that experts say makes her mainstream Judaism's first ordained black female rabbi.

"I was considered an 'old soul' even when I was young, because my family believed I had a maturity beyond my years," said Stanton, a Cleveland native who remembers being a bit indignant that her surprised mother was questioning the unknown man.
American Judaism will mark the milestone June 6, when Stanton is ordained in preparation for leading a predominantly white congregation of about 60 families in Greenville, N.C.
"It has been a journey with many twists and turns along the way, but Judaism is the language of my soul, and it's what resonates with me," the 45-year-old Stanton said.

Yet Stanton didn't always feel accepted by Jewish congregations or some friends when she converted during her 20s.
"A lot of my African-American friends thought I'd sold out, the Jewish community wasn't as accepting then and some Christian friends thought I had grown horns," said Stanton, who had been a Christian.
"I felt ostracized at times, but I had to learn who I was, what my values were and move forward."

Her mother, Anne Harrison, instilled in her four children the importance of having faith and a spiritual path.
"She didn't care what that was, as long as it was God-based and that we knew there was something greater than ourselves out there," Stanton said.
Her mother wasn't surprised when she decided to become a rabbi.
"Alysa has always reached for the top," said Harrison, 78, of Lakewood, Colo., where the family moved when Stanton was 11.
Stanton, who is divorced and has a 14-year-old daughter she adopted as a 1-year-old, is fairly soft-spoken with a warm, engaging smile and a steady, confident gaze. Congregation Bayt Shalom in North Carolina eagerly awaits her arrival.
"We needed someone who is a magnet, who radiates warmth," said member Carol Ogus Woodruff, 54. "She brings a scholarly awareness but also has great relationships with kids and can talk to different kinds of people."
Questions about race or gender never arose at Congregation Bayt Shalom, congregation President Michael Barondes said. Stanton's ability to listen and to communicate with others immediately impressed members.

The 9-year-old Stanton started her religious search while living in a Jewish neighborhood in Cleveland Heights. The following year, an uncle gave her a Hebrew grammar book that she still has and picks up from time to time.
"I think some things are just destined," she said.

As a student at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Stanton drove more than 140 miles a week to study with a rabbi in Denver for her conversion. She later moved to Denver, becoming very involved in the Jewish community.
She also learned to chant the Torah, the five books of Moses.

"That opened something in the recesses of my being, and I had a hunger and a thirst to learn more," Stanton said.
Stanton, who worked as a licensed psychotherapist specializing in grief, loss and trauma, thought she was too old and too poor to start rabbinical studies at age 38. But she believed it was meant to be.
She enrolled in 2002 at the Cincinnati campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, the nation's oldest institution for training rabbis, cantors and educators of Reform Judaism.

She believes her future is in God's hands but isn't satisfied with the world as it is, said Rabbi Kenneth Ehrlich, campus dean.
"She deeply believes that God calls upon her _ and upon all of us _ to make this a better world, a place that God wants it to be," Ehrlich said, referring to Stanton's work with a hospice and other community activities.
Her ordination is a politically significant and healthy step in the next stage of Judaism's development in America, said Lewis Gordon, founder of the Institute of Afro-Jewish Studies at Temple University in Philadelphia. Many believe it could draw more women and blacks to the rabbinate and other leadership roles.

A check of major seminaries in mainstream Judaism show 994 women rabbis will have been ordained as of the end of 2009. And several experts said they know of only one ordained black male rabbi in mainstream Judaism.
Stanton said she is happy to be a face that reflects diversity.

"I want our synagogue to be a place of hope, healing and inclusion," she said. "I want it to be an oasis for anyone seeking spiritual refreshment."

D.C. Sets Up Checkpoints To Stem Violence

This was some interesting info coming out of the Washington D.C. area! The local police department is cracking down on illegal activities in a particular neighborhood in the D.C. area, "The Trinidad Neighborhood" or "Baghdad D.C." and it includes a I.D. checkpoint and law enforcement officials investigating all persons that come to this neighborhood and for what reason. Is this a good thing or an invasion of privacy in today's society by local government?

The other reason is that a friend of mines from School is the reporter in the story and I posted this video of the story to give him props in all his journalism successes!
